Karats
Ancient artifacts, family heirlooms and more are given new life in the hands of jeweler Dan Telleen at Karats Vail. Telleen creates one-of-a-kind necklaces, pendants, rings and other jewelry with everything from millions of years old fossils and meteorites, ancient Roman coins and can customize all sorts of prized possessions.
As an established and respected Vail jewelry store since the 1970s, Karats is a local landmark in Vail Village and has been in its current location for decades. At Karats, Telleen’s work is joined by other artists who he invites to share the space – where he freely passes along his knowledge.
Specializing in uniquely artistic, hand-crafted jewelry, Telleen works a lot with gold and different forms of money. His bold, fluid and organic designs stand the test of time at Karats Vail.

Vail International Gallery
For the past 20 years, Vail International Gallery has established a reputation for exhibiting a range of contemporary and historic work from diverse genres. The gallery on Meadow Drive features museum-quality works by 20th century masters and emerging contemporary artists from the U.S. and Europe, as well as an expertise in Russian and Soviet art. Dozens of artists are represented at Vail International Gallery, which also hosts solo exhibits of contemporary art in its stand-alone gallery behind its primary storefront. Sarah Winkler, long a gallery favorite, has her exhibition, “Desert Modern,” hanging through August 2.
Represented artists include Mikhail Turovsky, whose Modernism style was banned by the Soviets yet gained international popularity for reflecting the great achievements, turmoil and triumph of the 20th century. Don Sahli is a plein air painter and teacher who uses color and temperature as tools to express form and emotion in his work.
Many of the artists represented at Vail International Gallery are also featured in private collections nationally and internationally, as well as galleries around the world. Ron Hicks, Carlo Trost, Bates Wilson, Vladimir Pentjuh and many more artists’ work are on display at Vail International Gallery.
Mountain peaks, winding rivers, flowing forests, desolate deserts all jump off the canvases at Vail International Gallery. Elegant brushwork, vibrant colors and expressionistic figures are also on display.
The world’s art is here in the Rocky Mountains at Vail International Gallery.
