Howard: Summer celebrations in the Vail Valley

Vail is buzzing with energy this summer, from mountain dining and activities to unforgettable live music and our highly anticipated Fourth of July celebrations, just around the corner. Across town and on the mountain, our community has poured its heart into creating an unforgettable experience for our guests.

Every year, I’m inspired by the passion, dedication, and collaborative spirit of this incredible community that makes Vail such a special place to be. Every day, we welcome someone to Vail for the first time, and we leave them with memories that last a lifetime.

This summer, Vail continues to unite around energetic music performances in one-of-a-kind Alpine venues on and off the slopes. We will have legendary performances at the SpringFree Bluegrass Festival, live concerts at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Lionshead Live and more. This past weekend, Vail Mountain wrapped Vail Summer Sessions presented by Toyota, a free music weekend at our newest music venue, Eagle’s Nest Rooftop, and at the base of Gondola One. We are excited to continue to provide these new experiences for our community and guests.

All of our summer activities are open on Adventure Ridge, and there is something for the whole family. Guests can choose from the Forest Flyer mountain coaster, bungee trampoline, Paramount Peak climbing wall, our mini and large summer tubing hills and more. I was excited to see so many families enjoying these activities on summer Opening Day, and we look forward to welcoming more family fun throughout the summer.

Vail Mountain’s culinary team is serving up summer menu items at Talon’s Grill at Eagle’s Nest, Sarge’s Grill at Mid-Vail, and Bistro 14, with ice cream returning to Simba’s Cafe. New this summer, every month The 10th restaurant will be hosting a special Sunday Brunch with delicious buffet options and their signature 10th Bloody Mary. We continue to innovate and elevate how we serve food on the mountain.

I hope to see you all this Fourth of July in Vail with Vail America Days, a beloved annual tradition. There will be a parade in the morning, followed by music and entertainment all afternoon and into the night. This tradition has been one of my favorite days in Vail and our team has been hard at work building our float. I want to extend my gratitude to all the teams that have worked hard to help prepare the town and the mountain for a great summer.

Enjoy the summer in Vail and we can’t wait to see everyone out there enjoying everything our community has to offer!

Beth Howard is the vice president and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain.
